Prior Proper Planning

Expert Fitness Training for Students, Athletes, and Coaches

Organization, Professionalism, Communication

P3PE is dedicated to teaching individuals good habits and practices through training, coaching, and mentorship.

  • The "Three P's" of P3PE:

    • Prior - Start early, and get out front. Early preparation is key.

    • Proper - Attention to detail and committed focus are what propel success.

    • Planning - Make the plan, and then work on the plan. Without planning, you are in search of treasure without a map.

  • Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance — a mindset that underscores the importance of communication, organization, and professionalism.

P3PE’s home, known as the Barn, is the foundation of the P3PE Schoolhouse of Physical Education. While the Schoolhouse has transitioned to virtual teaching, offering online classes, mentorships, and seminars, the mission remains unchanged.

Beyond the virtual space, the P3PE School Bus is on a roll, making in-person guest teaching appearances and delivering high-quality physical education directly to schools, programs, and communities. Together, the Schoolhouse and School bus represent P3PE’s commitment to accessible, professional, and purposeful education, wherever learning takes place.

  • Coach Cunningham began her athletic quest at Mills High School in Millbrae, California, where she competed in cross-country and track for four years. In college, she began her next sport: women’s rowing.

While at Sacramento State, Coach Cunningham earned three state championship titles and won the 1995 Pacific Coast Rowing Championships in the Women's Varsity Eight.

In 1996, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. After graduation, she spent three years training with the Women's U.S. Rowing National Team. She is a five-time winner at the US National Elite Championships.

Coach Cunningham earned international silver medals in the women’s lightweight quad at the 1998 World Rowing Championships and the 1999 Pan American Games.

Cassandra Cunningham brings an impressive 30-year career in teaching and coaching physical education, working with youth and adult athletes in tennis, track and field, and rowing. Her extensive experience across multiple sports and age groups highlights her versatility and commitment to fostering athletic development at all stages. This background likely equips her with a deep understanding of training methodologies and the ability to connect with athletes of various skill levels.

Her coaching experience covers a wide range of levels: high school, collegiate, and international. This breadth of experience suggests she has adapted her coaching strategies to suit different skill levels, cultures, and competitive environments, which could be a tremendous asset in guiding athletes and building successful programs across varied settings.

With her extensive expertise and passion for athletics, Cassandra Cunningham founded P3PE School of Physical Education. At P3PE, she established and continues to promote her “Three P’s” philosophy — Prior Proper Planning — which emphasizes organization, professionalism, and communication. This guiding principle likely shapes every aspect of her work, providing athletes with a structured, high-quality learning environment that fosters both athletic and personal growth.

The “Three P’s” philosophy at P3PE — Prior Proper Planning — serves as a foundation for preventing “Poor Performance,” embodying the idea that thoughtful preparation is essential for success. By instilling this principle, P3PE promotes effective habits and teaches athletes and coaches the value of time management and professional etiquette. This approach helps athletes develop discipline and responsibility, skills that are vital both in and out of the sporting world.
